We've had this cooler for about two years now and it has performed wonderfully.
It does create a noticeable noise when operating, so I do not assume it really is appropriate for use in a common location. At first we had it near our entertainment location, but the noise it made while operating became annoying for the duration of cards, conversation or although watching Television.
